Fractile Allots £577M in Series C Shares, Filings Show, as Anthropic Lines Up a $250M Chip Order

Fractile, the London AI inference-chip startup, allotted about £577 million (roughly $774 million) of Series C preferred shares between September 9 and October 23, 2026, according to a tally of Companies House SH01 filings published by Tech Funding News on October 30. Fractile has not announced the round.

What the filings show

Companies House lists nine statements of capital following share allotments for Fractile Ltd (company 14143636): three filed on October 15 covering allotments on September 11, and six filed on October 28 covering allotments dated September 9 and October 6, 7, 8, 16 and 23. A resolution authorising the allotment of securities was filed on October 12.

Tech Funding News reports three new share classes, Series C-1 at £801.54, C-2 at £707.25 and C-3 at £1,452.35 per share, totalling about £147.8 million, £37.4 million and £392.2 million respectively. It says about £450.5 million was allotted on September 11, all paid in cash.

Conflicting totals

Sifted, which first reported the filings on October 29, put the new Series C money at £540 million (about $721 million). Tech Funding News' later count is £577 million. Ultrathink confirmed the filings exist on Companies House but has not independently summed the per-filing amounts, so the exact total remains unconfirmed. Allotments recorded in filings are shares issued, not a round the company has announced as closed, and no valuation appears in the filings.

The Anthropic order

Bloomberg reported, citing unnamed sources, that Fractile agreed an initial deal to sell Anthropic about $250 million of chips, with both sides open to expanding it. Fractile expects to deploy its chips in data centres in 2027 and has not shipped a production chip.

Context

The allotments come about five months after Fractile's $220 million Series B. In August, it was reported to be in advanced talks to raise $600 million at a $6.5 billion pre-money valuation, per Tech Funding News. Founded in 2022 by Walter Goodwin and Yuhang Song, Fractile designs inference chips that keep data next to compute, and says it targets 1,200 tokens per second on long workloads that now run near 40.
