Basecamp Research Series C: $140M for EDEN Therapeutics

Basecamp Research announced on September 23, 2026 a $140 million oversubscribed Series C led by S32. The corrected PR Newswire release, posted September 24, 2026, says the capital trains a new generation of EDEN biological foundation models and advances a pipeline of AI-designed therapeutics toward clinical development, starting with in vivo cell therapy. The primary wire does not disclose a valuation.

PR Newswire posted a correction on September 24 that rewrote the participant list on the same URL. This article uses that corrected list, including Menlo Ventures’ Anthology Fund.

Who is on the paper

S32 led. The corrected release names Menlo Ventures’ Anthology Fund, Catalio Capital Management, European Tech Collective, Firebrand River Capital, Inception Fund, King Philanthropies, NATO Innovation Fund, NVIDIA, PostScriptum, Redalpine, The Rockefeller Foundation, Singular, Sovereign AI, and True Ventures as participants.

Andy Conrad, general partner at S32 and former CEO of Google’s Verily, joins the board. Basecamp appointed Richard Pearce, formerly of Biogen, as chief business officer to expand pharmaceutical partnerships. That partnership expansion is company-reported.

EDEN therapeutics, as the company wrote them

The London-and-Boston company says it is applying EDEN, its biological foundation model, to in vivo cell therapy: reprogramming a patient’s cells inside the body. The wire pairs EDEN’s sequence design with large serine recombinases that integrate DNA into the genome. Those mechanism details are the company’s.

The same release says Basecamp has demonstrated strong preclinical results across multiple modalities and disease areas. Treat that as a company claim. Independent clinical data is not on this wire.

The company homepage currently describes EDEN as a 28 billion-parameter model. That figure is not on the Series C wire. The $140 million is for a new generation of EDEN models, not a restatement of the current count.

The Trillion Gene Atlas

Basecamp calls the Trillion Gene Atlas the world’s largest proprietary genomic and biological AI training dataset. Atlas partners named on the wire: NVIDIA, Anthropic, PacBio, and Ultima Genomics. Data comes through access-and-benefit-sharing partnerships in more than 30 countries across all seven continents.

The company news index lists two September 23, 2026 posts on the raise. That confirms the announcement date. It does not add a valuation.
